What the morning covers

Perimenopause is the years before menopause, when the hormones start to shift and the body starts behaving in ways nobody warned you about: sleep, mood, periods, weight, memory, joints, skin. Most women go through it without a single honest conversation with someone who understands it.

This brunch is that conversation. Dr Nancy Kunyiha, consultant physician and endocrinologist, on perimenopause and menopause and the physical changes they bring: what is actually happening, what is normal, what is not, and what the options are. Betty Okere, registered dietitian and diabetes educator, on the nutrition and wellness side: what to eat and how to protect your body through the change. Liz Mwendwa convening, and holding the room open for every question.

It is also a brunch. Dress up, eat well, meet women who came for the same reason, and leave with notes you can act on.

Before you book

Who is the brunch for?
Women who are in perimenopause, think they might be, or want to understand it before it arrives. Daughters, sisters and friends are welcome. The room is women only.
Do I need to be in perimenopause already?
No. Many women come because of a mother, a sister or a symptom they cannot name. Understanding it early is the point.
What if I miss the early-bird date?
Seats are KES 6,000 from 1 November, while they last.
Can I bring a friend?
Please do. Pay for both seats and reserve with both names in the form.
What if I cannot make it after paying?
WhatsApp Liz on 0722326549 as early as you can. Seats can be transferred to another woman.
